wXStation is a state-of-the-art, multiuser, UNIX-based weather analysissystem. It provides the capability to ingest an extensive set ofmeteorological data from a full spectrum Unisys data source (or othersources, while allowing meteorologists to perform analysis and preparefroecasts at both the regional and local levels. wXstation, created foruse by airlines, forecast centers, businesses, universities, marketanalysts, and government agencies, can reduce analysis time due to itsmulti-window, multi-process architecture and innovative dispalytechnology. wXStation uses a UNIX, X-Windows, and Motif architecture andallows the operator to access, display, and analyze a continuosly updatedweather picture when combined with our Shared Data Base (SDB) datamanagement system. In addition to the current picture, wXStationmaintains a 24-hour global weather history that can be displayed using avariety of histograms and overlays. wXStation has an easy to understand,menu-driven interface that has been designed and built according toindustry standards. It is available for SUN computers as a single-user,multi-user, and networked system application.
